Dinkoeng Tented Camp and Adventure is situated along the north-eastern edge of Maloti-Drakensberg Mountain between Kingdom of Lesotho and KwaZulu-Natal Province. It is on landscape slopes adjacent to Monontsha-Lesotho border post and western exit of Golden Gate Highlands National Park into Qwaqwa at altitude of between 2100 - 2300m high. The zone gives space to unique medicinal plants that are used by the Basotho tribe to treat various clinical diseases. A camp sits on a location that was used as a corridor for nomadic San people during 1400, Basotho tribe in early 1600, as well as point of contact with Boer in mid-1800 Lifaqane war. The area is a gate way from Lesotho highlands into eastern Free State and through to western KwaZulu-Natal.
The altitudinal range and majestic cliffs created by discontinuous landscape gradients of the Drakensberg Mountains creates an adventurous for most hikers forming waterfalls, river steams and gorges. The area gives a spectacular green vegetation during summer, white cover of snow in winter and connects to Sephoko Peak that is ideal for bird watching and view point into Lesotho.
